Terrazas Alta Vista; Meaning Balcony with the high views, is a sustainable vineyard that believes wine making is all about attention to detail. Located in Mendoza, the high-altitude climate, with its low rainfall, rocky soil, and lack of organic elements in the ground, forces vines to work hard for hydration and nutrients. As a result, our grapes develop vivid, intense flavours.
This incredible wine tasting will be accompanied by a 4 course dinner.
Includes tasting of 4 wines and a branded Palermo Wine glass to take home.
About the Wine Maker
Gonzalo was born in 1980 in the city of Mendoza. After graduating from Liceo Agrícola y Enológico (High School of Agriculture and Winemaking), under the control of Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, he completed his university studies with a degree in Winemaking at Facultad Don Bosco.
From an early age, he showed interest in winemaking. At the age of 18, while he was working as an intern, he had his first contact with the world of wine. Since then, he has worked in different wineries in Mendoza, Spain, France and Australia.
He started working with Moet Hennessy in 2002 as a technician at Terrazas de los Andes. Then, in 2008, he was included in the technical team of Chandon Argentina as the winemaker in charge of Research and Development. There, he had the opportunity to enhance his creativity and improve his know-how.
From the year 2009 until 2011, he was part of the technical team of Bodega Numanthia (Spain) supporting the group during harvest time.
Today, Gonzalo Carrasco is a Senior Winemaker at Terrazas de los Andes and often travels around the world educating people about Terrazas’ wines.
About the Vineyard
Terrazas des Los Andes was founded in 1996 as a marriage of French winemaking knowledge with the finest Argentinian terroir. Following over 50 years of studying the high altitude vineyards of Mendoza, the winery carefully selects the best altitudes and sites for each grape variety to craft the utmost aromatic expression of each grape.
Terrazas des los Andes focus on being vineyard experts before winemakers and believe in minimum intervention to allow the purest expression of the natural attributes of their high altitude terroirs.
